Nicolas Cage talks value of premiering “Arcadian” at SXSW 2024

Nicolas Cage traveled to Austin, TX to premiere his new horror/sci-fi film with the SXSW audience and briefly spoke about the value of doing so with festivals like SXSW.

FIRST WORD ON HORROR is a fifteen-part documentary series directed by Philip Gelatt, that profiles five of the finest horror writers working today. Across multiple episodes, each author discusses their life, their inspirations, their philosophies, and their writing techniques while reading one of their short stories. The first episodes will premiere February 7th exclusively on Substack.

In this first season, they are Stephen Graham Jones, Paul Tremblay, Elizabeth Hand, Laird Barron, and Mariana Enriquez. Through the authors’ lives the series takes viewers from a harrowing Iditarod dogsled race in Alaska to the lurking terror of growing up under the Argentinian dictatorship, from the unbridled energy of the early DC punk scene to an ill-fated hunting expedition on the Blackfeet reservation in Montana.

FIRST WORD ON HORROR is directed by Emmy and WGA winning writer and filmmaker Philip Gelatt, whose credits include: The Spine of Night, Europa Report, They Remain, The Bleeding House and Love Death + Robots. Trevor Henderson is a horror illustrator, writer and creature concept artist who is best known for creating the character Siren Head, which became a viral sensation online. Trevor designed numerous monsters for the feature film TAROT, and is always looking for new creature concept design work in film or games. He wrote and illustrated the middle grade horror chapter book "Scarewaves" for Scholastic, and has a sequel due to be released next August.

Ernie Hudson Exclusive Interview – Puppy Food Bank Ambassador Announcement

Ernie Hudson, famous for his role in the Ghostbusters franchise was newly announced as an Ambassador for the Puppy Food Bank in San Antonio, TX. The star spent the weekend raising funds for the organization which provides food for “no kill” rescue centers across the country as well as adoptive families.
