Native Texan and first-time director Jake Allyn talks about his new modern cowboy drama ‘Ride’

RIDE tells the story of a family’s multiple struggles and the great lengths that they will go, to protect the ones they love. This story is based in small Texas town by Texas native and first-time director, Jake Allyn. In our discussion we go over the inspiration for this modern cowboy tale, his all-star cast that kept him on his game, and our mutual love for Texas stories. The movie RIDE hits select theaters and video on demand on June 14.

Synopsis: Three generations of bull riders fight to raise money to transfer the family’s young daughter to a better cancer hospital. Set in Stephenville, Texas, RIDE explores rodeo, addiction in the Heartland, and the cowboy’s place in modern America.
