See the all-new TV spot for the Ahsoka Star Wars series

Published

on

This past July I was lucky enough to moderate panels during Superhero Comic-Con for multiple stars from a galaxy far, far, away such as Ming-Na Wen, Katee Sackhoff, and the man behind the Mandalorian helmet, Barry Lowin. In my conversation with Barry, I came to a realization in the middle of our panel and declared in front of a huge crowd that: we are going through a renaissance of Star Wars. That was a few months ago however it’s even more evident after this past week’s episode of Ahsoka that my statement is true.

Last May we were blessed with seeing flashbacks between Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi during their sparring days and the most recent episode of Ahsoka took us through past events of The Clone Wars and is providing Hayden Christensen a little of his own renaissance.

There he was. In his Clone Wars armor leading Commander Rex and guiding a young Ahsoka Tano into battle. If you were to ask me 20 years ago, what are two things I wish we would have had an opportunity to see for the Star Wars fandom that I never expected we would get, it would be: Seeing Luke Skywalker in his prime (which occurred during the S2 finale of The Mandalorian) and second I would say seeing a live-action Anakin during The Clone Wars. No not episode II, those were the events leading up to the war, but actually seeing Anakin in his prime and still far enough away from the dark side was more fulfilling than I anticipated. It was a wonderful and emotional surprise.

It is remarkable that we as fans are able to have all these incredible moments after so much time has passed. Perhaps it makes it all the more special. An actual live-action Clone Wars series wouldn’t have been on anyone’s mind after episode III. Things were much more absolute then. I guess that makes us more like Sith than we realize. One can only hope that with Dave Filoni at the helm, fans can experience more unexpected moments where, no matter how improbable it may seem, the impossible is possible. He has been a guiding light for the franchise. A fan turned storyteller who only wants to see this universe flourish. A savior of nerd passion and imagination.

A New Hope.

Official Ahsoka Trailer and Key Art Released by Disney

Published

on

FAST, INTENSE, and Rebels dense! 1 day ago we got a new poster (below) and what could be the greatest Star Wars Disney+ trailer to date in the most likely last Ahsoka trailer before the 2 episode premiere on August 23rd, THATS RIGHT, 2 EPISODE PREMIERE!

The trailer drops a lot of information with a lot of action! We see the late Ray Stevenson’s Baylan Skoll proclaiming “War is inevitable” “One must destroy in order to create” and “We are no Jedi” while dispatching New Republic troops. We are no Jedi being a total callback to the famous Ahsoka line “I am no Jedi.”

We also get a slick red LUCASFILM logo which references something. General Kenobi on the Star Wars STUFF podcast recently thought it might be referencing Thrawn’s eyes that glow red.

We then see Ahsoka in what we believe to be is an underground temple with a mysterious figure with a familiar motif of the world between worlds design.

Ahsoka – “I started hearing whispers……of Thrawns return as heir to the empire.”

“What happens when we find Thrawn?” “Power such as you never dreamed.”

Hera Syndulla – “Ive spent most of my life fighting a war. Thats why I’m trying to convince you to help me prevent another one.”

Hera Syndulla – “You and I both know who could help you with this.”

Ahsoka – “She’s still just as stubborn as ever.”

Sabine – “I bet your master found you difficult at times.”

Ahsoka – “Anakin never got to finish my training.” “I walked away from him, just like I walked away from Sabine.”
