Professional Wrestling Superstar Thunder Rosa to launch her first ever comic book (Exclusive)

Published

on

Wrestling icon Melissa Cervantes, who is known by her in-ring name Thunder Rosa, has had a busy year to say the least. Just last month she appeared on AEW Dynamite where she won a trios battle against Britt Baker, Mercedes Moné and Persephone, and she recently opened her own salon boutique in San Antonio, Texas called La Rosa Beauty Collective. Her new ventures don’t stop there.

Very soon the former women’s world champion in collaboration with her digital media company, Luchando TR Productions, is launching a Kickstarter campaign for a brand-new comic series titled ‘Heart of Thunder‘. “This project is a deeply personal extension of everything I stand for,” Cervantes explains. “My goal has always been to build bridges, celebrate my culture, and create opportunities for incredible creators. ‘Heart of Thunder‘ is the next evolution of that mission.”

The comic series is described as deeply rooted in her own real-life experiences and has drawn emotional inspiration from the passing of her grandfather at a lucha libre event, to being an advocate for children in her time spent as a social worker. The Kickstarter campaign fittingly launches on November 2, the Mexican National holiday known as ‘El Dia De Los Muertos’ (Day of the Dead).

For more information on the comic visit the Kickstarter link here: ‘Heart of Thunder’ Campaign and be sure to follow Melissa Cervantes’ journey on her Instagram.

Campaign-exclusive items and special tier rewards will only be available for 45 days. After the campaign concludes, the limited-edition items will return to the “graveyards of Tijuana”. Based on an original multi-issue outline created by Melissa Cervantes with Justin Harvey, Luchando TR LLC, along with project manager Raymond Terrazas. Written by Kevin Garcia with art by Martha Ortiz.

Luchando TR LLC is a multi-media entertainment company founded by Melissa Cervantes. Dedicated to empowering independent talent, celebrating multicultural narratives, and expanding the boundaries of sports entertainment, the company produces premium content across wrestling, merchandise and graphic fiction.

This is for horror fans! Cathedral’s story is captivating and the art pulls you in like a movie. That’s not all, play the album while taking in the art and it is mind blowing!

What can I say about the album – its horror suspense with rock. It’s well put together. This is next level immersion for graphic novels.

The novel takes you in with the opening page of a cathedral at night with lightning in the background. Then we get a zoomed in image of an eye on the stained glass. A full-on art panel of police cars in the rain in front. A female stepping out of the car, a cop walks up to her and says “we have an officer down” ….and boom the roller coaster ride has begun.

Storm King Comics

This gave me “Mouth of Madness” with “The Thing” vibes. You get blood and gore with suspense. Horror fans need to go out and get this. I can see this made into an 8-episode series for streaming. I will be adding this to my collection!
