But for director Keith Boynton, a trip to the Markoff Haunted Forest in Maryland sparked the concept for his latest horror project. Described by Boynton as a “love letter to slasher films,” the movie embraces the genre’s most iconic elements: suspenseful twists, a compelling whodunit narrative, a rising body count, and more. In this conversation, hear how the local haunt ignited his imagination, what drew him to cast lead actor Grayson Gwaze, and the unique challenges of filming a movie within a functioning haunted attraction.
