WWE Announces Return to Jeddah for King and Queen of the Ring

WWE announced today they will be returning to Jeddah for WWE King and Queen of the ring, taking place at the Jeddah Superdome on May 27, 2023. This will be the first time since 2015, that King of the Ring will be a Premium Live Event. This also marks the 2nd crowning of the Queen of the Ring since the inaugural Queen’s Crown Tournament which took place in Riyadh in 2021.

The first King of Ring PPV took place in 1993 from Dayton, Ohio. Bret Hart defeated Bam Bam Bigelow in the tournament final to be crowned King of the Ring. The last King of the Ring crown was won by Xavier Woods, defeating Finn Balor at Crown Jewel in October 2021. At that same event the first Queen of the Ring was crowned when Zelina Vega defeated Doudrop (Now knows Piper Niven).

More details regarding the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will be announced in the coming weeks via WWE television shows and social media.

As announced by WWE and Metro Boomin ahead of last weekend’s Money In The Bank®, the WWE Premium Live Event Bad Blood® will take place Saturday, October 5 from State Farm Arena in Atlanta. This will mark 27 years to the day since the original event took place.

Known for introducing the first ever Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels in 1997, Bad Blood is the first Premium Live Event to take place in Atlanta since New Year’s Day of 2022. Georgia’s capital is rich in WWE history, having hosted WrestleMania XXVII (2011), Survivor Series (2015) and Royal Rumble (2002, 2010). Additionally, it marks the hometown return of Atlanta native and current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
