‘You’re Cordially Invited’ to a double wedding of laughter – Review

Published

on

When the ideal wedding venue unintentionally gets double booked and both wedding planners resort to a comprise, you don’t think to ask, “What could go wrong?” The comedy film You’re Cordially Invited, written and directed by Nicholas Stoller featuring Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell prove, in the upmost humorous fashion, that everything will go wrong.

Witherspoon plays the role of Margot, the perfectionist and Neve’s (Meredith Hagner) older sister. Margot takes the honor of being her sister’s wedding planner. She hysterically clashes with Will Ferrell’s character Jim, a widower and an overly attached father to Jenni (Geraldine Viswanathan). Although Jim has conflicting feelings about his daughter marrying Oliver (Stony Blyden) – a young man with big aspirations of becoming a successful DJ, Jim will go to any length to make his daughter happy.

The movie is full of comedic scenes that will surely to take you on a wild roller-coaster ride. The dramatic wedding even has an uninvited frightening, scaly reptile. Aside from all the comedy, there are some warm heartfelt moments that the audience can relate to from reconciling years of family strains to a father finding the strength to let go of his daughter so that she can live her adult life.

Surprisingly, Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell are a unique comedic duo that nailed every punchline – tons of laughter from beginning to end. Witherspoon is perfect projecting characters that have that uppity charm, assertive personality which we all come to adore and compliments the veteran comedian Will Ferrell. Ferrell guarantees the audience over the top entertainment with his extreme antics and his portrayal of being a silly but endearing character.

Peyton Manning and Nick Jonas also have some cameos that add continuous amusement to these dramatic weddings. They are like the icing on a wedding cake.

You’re Cordially Invited releases January 30 on Amazon Prime.

THE AGE OF DISCLOSURE is the most credible and compelling doc EVER on the existence of UFO/UAP phenomena

Published

on

We had the opportunity to attend the world premiere plus interview the director/producer, pilots, PhDs, member of Congress that appear in THE AGE OF DISCLOSURE at this year’s SXSW in Austin, TX and it was revelatory, logical, interesting, and above all else believable.

Director/Producer Dan Farah (above) told us he approached the doc as a journalist and to investigate what was real and wasn’t real. His hope that the film would inform at a base level of what is happening and that humanity would take this topic more serious as a culture, government, and world. Watching the documentary you really feel that as revelatory after revelatory piece of information is clearly conveyed to the audience.

U.S NAVY Fighter Pilot (RET.) Commander David Fravor also spoke with us on the red carpet. He told us he thought Dan Farah did the best job up to this point in regards to revealing the truth to bring archival footage from the 70s, 90s, the 2000s to sitting congressman, sitting senators, and people in the know that are going to talk about this topic to remove the stigma and take this seriously.

Commander Fravor is the pilot who chased the now infamous TIC TAC UAP and talks about the experience in the documentary along with LT. COMMANDER ALEX DIETRICH U.S. NAVY Fighter Pilot (RET.) and LIEUTENANT RYAN GRAVES U.S. NAVY Fighter Pilot (RET.) who gives a secondhand description of a up close encounter of a UAP by a fellow pilot that is chilling.

LIEUTENANT RYAN GRAVES U.S. NAVY Fighter Pilot (RET.)

U.S. REPRESENTATIVE | TENNESSEE COMMITTEE ON OVERSIGHT & ACCOUNTABILITY TIM BURCHETT explained to us he was a very conservative republican and this is a very bi-partisan issue and has asked his friend A.O.C. (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) to get involved with this issue. There is a serious committee that has testified which have nothing to gain and Tim Burchett has lost contributors due to his stance. I also asked him about the drone UAP phenomena in the New Jersey area at the time and he thought it really had nothing to do with the UAP/UFOs in this documentary.

STANFORD UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE CIA, AATIP, UAP TASK FORCE | ADVISOR DR. GARRY NOLAN told us of an experience he had when he was a paperboy seeing a UFO/UAP fly over his head and exclaimed “as a boy in the 70s what do you do with that information?” Dr. Nolan also explained with current events and this documentary made it easier to talk about his experience and talk to others with similar experiences and interest. He also excitedly mentioned he has students that want to work in his lab on UAP at STANFORD UNIVERSITY.

NAVY INTELLIGENCE | DIA SENIOR EXECUTIVE (RET.) JAY STRATTON pictured above on the red carpet and in the documentary is maybe the most direct, forthright, non sensationalistic person that will tell you WE ARE NOT ALONE. He said we have been in an almost 80 year secret war to harness the technology and whoever wins will rule and this is TRUE DISCLOSURE. I asked him how many personal experiences he had with UAP/UFO and he said more than I want to talk about here. He said this is no sensationalism and as the guy who led the U.S. government’s UAP program, we are not alone. Jay does go into more depth in his involvement in the UAP program and makes a very shocking claim.

Watching this documentary in the Paramount theater with the creators and cast alongside some very famous directors and actors, it felt heavy and important. A watershed moment in one of the most talked about, controversial, and ponderous topics humanity has ever encountered. There are tons and tons of UFO docs on cable and streaming but none with the collection of reputable former military, current government officials, and scientists that supply a clear understanding of where we are at now, what has taken place, and a logical explanation on how the technology for the UAP/UFOs work which break the laws of all known physics and science. Other accounts of many different types of UAP/UFOs in excellent animation are also detailed as well as the pushback from various higher up officials due to reputation and religion. This documentary is great and once it was available on Prime Video, I had to buy it and watch it again.

FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S 2 – Revenge of the Animatronics Give a Good Fright

Published

on

Based on the blockbuster game series by Scott Cawthon and directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Emma Tammi comes a shocking new chapter of animatronic terror, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. A year has passed since the inexplicable torment at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been spun into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first ever Fazfest.

Abby (Piper Rubio) longing for reconnecting with her animatronic friends – Chica (voice Megan Fox), Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Foxy and Mr. Cupcake – sets into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing the horror that was suppressed for decades.

In this second installment of Five Nights at Freddy’s, Director Tammi combines the emotional and metal effects with the supernatural haunting, which originated from children who feel rejected and betrayed from the ones they trust the most, their parents. This is seen where the parents are laughing it up among themselves, enjoying their time at the pizza family establishment while the kids are running around playing games. However, when a distressful situation arises – a little boy is being abducted by William Afton (Matthew Lillard) – Charlotte (Audrey Lynn-Marie) desperately cries to notify the adults for help, but gets ignored. Those kids that were affected now feel broken, which leads to a massive plot twist.

The film takes place at the original Freddy’s pizzeria, featuring a riverboat attraction – Disney’s version of a haunted It’s a Small World boat ride. There are plenty of jump scares throughout that are entertaining and keep you engaged in the nightmarish revenge of the animatronics that include the new additions Mangle and Marionette. Keep an eye out for the Easter eggs drawn from the original games hidden throughout the sets for fans to discover. Also, you will see a familiar knife waving around.

The original cast Josh Hutcherson as Mike, Piper Rubio as Abby and Elizabeth Lail as Vanessa are joined with recognizable faces: comedy legend Wayne Knight as Mr. Berg, Abby’s robotics teacher, Amityville: The Awakening and Ghostbusters Mckenna Grace as Lisa, Shadow and Bone Freddy Carter as Michael, Chucky and Final Destination: Bloodlines Teo Briones as Alex. They all paired well, sharing their horror acting experience and applying it towards the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 making this horror film a good frightening time with the special appearances from the scream kings Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 in theaters December 5, 2025. Be sure to stay for 2 post credit scenes!

HAMNET – Best Poetic Heartrending Film of the Year!

Published

on

When it comes to creating a derivation of a William Shakespeare’s classic play Hamlet, which  many scholars believe was inspired by the death of his son, Chloé Zhao eloquently transformed the screen to the Elizabethan era. Zhao directed and co-wrote Hamnet with Maggie O’Farrell. The story was beautifully written – expressing the romance between Will (Paul Mescal) and Agnes (Jessie Buckley) followed by a sorrowful calamity over the death of their son.

There was a sense of realism felt in the authenticity of the humble countryside cottage where Will would craft his theatrical work with a quill that would squeak as he wrote on the sheets of paper. Zhao seamlessly generated juxtaposition with nature that framed Agnes’s mystic – holistic beliefs, as the dreary weather illustrated somber moods. No detail was spared in the scenes, especially the aesthetics of the Globe Theater that are elegant and stunning.

Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley were exquisite and commendable. They both conveyed raw and soulful performances worthy of an Oscar nomination. Their kinetic energy contributed to the film’s exploration of love and devastating grief that intensifies to a cleansing release.

Hamnet emotionally captures the poetic essence of love, passion and turmoil that was enduring throughout the entirety of the film. It is a highly recommended must see.
