Recently announced in key roles are Henry Winkler as the skittish, all-knowing potoo bird, Nigel, who holds powerful secrets to the magical world of Hexe, and Dan Stevens as Hieronymous, Queen Celeste’s blustering and self-important Grand Councilor of the Throne.

In Disney’s Hexed, an impulsive and unconventional teenage girl named Billie Doe (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) discovers secret magical abilities which, once unleashed, hurtle her out of suburbia and into a spectacle-filled journey through a vast witch realm called Hexe. Forced to team up with her cautious mother, Alice (voiced by Rashida Jones), they uncover family mysteries that could change the world of witches forever.

Walton Goggins voices Beef Roger Crummchuk, a reclusive, magical three-eyed cat who forges an uneasy alliance with Billie and Alice. Two-time Academy Award® winner Jodie Foster voices Queen Celeste, a sinister figure who will stop at nothing to maintain her power in perpetuity over Hexe.

Straight off its world premiere at this year’s Fantastic Fest, the hype for the film RIVER is not only real, but palpable. The brutal film has a more nostalgic horror feel to it with its grounded template and leans more into the suspense than jump scares or gore. Its this simplified broken down aesthetic that is the films strong suit and buries the audience in layers of dread through the second and third acts.

The terrifying survival flick stars notable horror veterans Jessica Rothe and Jane Levy as they find themselves in a desperate and unimaginable situation as they are hunted while their boat is stranded. Writer and director Joshua Giuliano has a unique voice that will resonate with lifelong horror fans. My hope is to see more from him and that RIVER will just be the beginning for this talented storyteller.

SYNOPSIS: In River, when three estranged siblings reunite in their hometown after the death of their father, they set out to scatter his ashes at his favorite spot on a remote river. But when their boat breaks down, the trip devolves into a waking nightmare. Stranded miles from help with no cell service, they soon realize they’re being stalked by a faceless killer who has emerged from the woods. To survive the night, the siblings must put their long-standing grudges aside and fight together against a ruthless, almost mythic terror.
